Know Before You Go

Race Day Schedule

6:30 a.m.: Transition opens. One chaperone may accompany each athlete for setup. Only athletes and race personnel/volunteers will be allowed in transition once the race starts

7:45 a.m.: Senior’s pre-race briefing in transition

7:50 a.m.: Senior transition area closes and athletes line up to enter swim venue

7:55 a.m.: Star Spangled Banner

8 a.m.: Senior race starts!

 

8:30 a.m.: Junior pre-race briefing in transition

8:35 a.m.: Junior transition closes and athletes line up to enter swim venue

8:45 a.m.: Junior race starts (all Seniors must be on the run prior to Junior start)

 

10:15 a.m.: Diaper Dash

10:20 a.m.: Toddler Trot

10:30 a.m.: Half-mile run

10:45 a.m.: One-mile run

*Senior bikes/gear may be retrieved from Transition after all Juniors are on the bike

Race Distances & Age Groups

IRONKIDS® Triathlon (ages 11-17): 100-yard swim, 3.4-mile bike, and 1 mile run

IRONKIDS® Triathlon (ages 7-10): Slide + lazy river + 20-yard swim, 2.4-mile bike, and half mile run

* 7–10-year-old who do not want to do the slide may enter the water at the bottom of the slide and swim to Lazy River entrance (about 10 feet), then do the Lazy River and 20-yard swim. Goggles may not be worn on the slide but may be carried down the slide and put on once in Lazy River.

Diaper Dash (ages 0-2): 26.2-ft crawl

Toddler Trot (ages 1-3): 26.2-yards

Half Mile (ages 3-12): .5 miles

One Mile (ages 5-17): 1 mile

* One adult may accompany each participant, but must wear the bib supplied in the participant's packet

Race Day Checklist

SWIM

  • Swimsuit or tri kit
  • Shirt and shorts if not wearing tri kit
  • Goggles (optional)
  • Swim cap (optional)
  • Towel

BIKE

  • Don't forget your bicycle!
  • Helmet
  • Water bottle
  • Cycling shoes or running shoes/socks
  • Pumps will be available in transition to use

RUN

  • Bib (can be pinned on or you can use a race belt)
  • Running shoes/socks if wearing cycling shoes on bike
