Beard Park

Wide shot of Beard Park playground

Beard Park includes a full-size pavilion suitable for parties and gatherings, modern restroom facilities, open spaces that maintain a natural feel, safe and sturdy play structures that mimic natural materials, and a nostalgic area containing the famed log cabin. The park's overall theme connects the past and the present with a "Family Tree" look and feel, providing residents a space to connect with the Little Elm of their memories. Hiking trails are located in the park that joins with the Lakefront Trail, giving hikers, walkers, joggers, and runners a connected series of paths to customize their workouts and activities.

Storywalk® at Beard Park

StoryWalk® was created in 2007 by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT, in collaboration with former staff member Rachel Senechal, and is a registered service mark of the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. StoryWalk® now exists across the U.S. and worldwide in 13 countries including Germany, Canada, England, Bermuda, Russia, Malaysia, Pakistan and South Korea!

This project combines the benefits of physical activity, time outdoors in nature, literacy, and family time. The Little Elm Public Library is excited to provide this feature at Beard Park and will change books seasonally. Follow the trail signs to read a new book!
